This major choral work may be performed in three different versions: with accompaniment for chamber ensemble, orchestra, or organ. The world premiere of the Requiem was given in November 2007 by the Choir of Christ Church, Christiana Hundred, USA and the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge gave the first UK performance. The Requiem is fast becoming popular with choirs and will receive its Australian premiere in November 2008. The BBC Singers have recorded the work for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and a recording by Regent Records will feature the Requiem with other choral pieces by the composer.

Some reviews:

His Requiem (A Thanksgiving for Life) was immediately accessible, full of tunes, expertly scored, almost hummable at times. It cannot fail to become a regular part of British musical life.

Eastbourne Herald

The text-setting is direct and economical and the music beautifully crafted

The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians

Throughout the music is eminently approachable for both performers and listeners

Organists’ Review

It is well worth considering if you sing a Requiem setting on Remembrance Sunday or at All Souls.
